Upper estimate price exceeded by 100 %.
This artwork by Gerhard Richter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in October 2021. In the Collection Alain Bouret auction, the work Ice 2 sold for EUR 60,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerhard Richter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstraktes Bild in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 30,389,000.00 (€ 41,901,917.57).
