Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Onkel Rudi by Gerhard Richter. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,927.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerhard Richter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstraktes Bild in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 30,389,000.00 (€ 41,901,917.57).
