In July 2017 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work The Madonna and Child by Giovanni Battista Salvi. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,501.35), 58% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Salvi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Madonna and Child embracing in an interior, a landscape with Saint Joseph beyond in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 551,844.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Madonna and Child von Giovanni Battista Salvi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.501,35) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Salvi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Madonna and Child embracing in an interior, a landscape with Saint Joseph beyond im Juli 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 433.250,00 (€ 551.844,05).
