Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Dreamers, 2019 by Godwin Champs Namuyimba was auctioned at Artcurial in Paris in June 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 25,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at EUR 78,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Godwin Champs Namuyimba; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Connector sold at auction in November 2021 with the realized price of HKD 1,323,000.00 (€ 147,104.19).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Dreamers, 2019 von Godwin Champs Namuyimba im Juni 2021 bei Artcurial in Paris versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 25.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 78.000,00 mehr als dreimal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Godwin Champs Namuyimba; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Connector im November 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.323.000,00 (€ 147.104,19).
