Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Lost in Thought 1 by Oluwole Omofemi. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 52,750.00 (€ 62,541.06). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oluwole Omofemi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Invader, which sold at auction in March last year for USD 189,000.00 (€ 170,377.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lost in Thought 1 von Oluwole Omofemi zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 52.750,00 (€ 62.541,06) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Oluwole Omofemi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Invader beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für USD 189.000,00 (€ 170.377,72) versteigert wurde.
