Auction result well in line with expectations
The work crate & barrel 2 by Haim Steinbach was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in March 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 45,000.00 – 65,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 55,131.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Haim Steinbach - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Security And Serenity #1, which sold at auction in September 2015 for GBP 93,700.00 (€ 126,892.06).
