This artwork by Hans Hartung achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in October last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work P1971-A59 sold for GBP 88,200.00 (€ 102,752.02) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hans Hartung achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work T1956-13 in December 2017 with an auction result of EUR 2,691,250.00.
