Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait de Simone Monette Vincent by Henri Matisse was sold in the Modern Art Online including Works from the Collection of Marina Picasso auction at Sothebys in London in May last year. The price achieved of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 59,290.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Matisse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Odalisque couchée aux magnolias in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 80,750,000.00 (€ 69,194,515.85).
