Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lake Superior, Jacob Creek Falls by Hiroshi Sugimoto was sold in the Contemporary Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 25,200.00 (€ 23,483.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hiroshi Sugimoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Sea, Ozuluce; Yellow Sea, Cheju; Red Sea, Safaga in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,888,000.00 (€ 1,403,404.45).
