The result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 34,626.04) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hiroshi Sugimoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Sea, Ozuluce; Yellow Sea, Cheju; Red Sea, Safaga in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,888,000.00 (€ 1,403,404.45).

Die Arbeit Lightning Fields 226, 2009 von Hiroshi Sugimoto kam im Oktober 2021 bei Christies zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 34.626,04) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hiroshi Sugimoto erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Black Sea, Ozuluce; Yellow Sea, Cheju; Red Sea, Safaga im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.888.000,00 (€ 1.403.404,45).
