Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art | New York, which included the work Mediterranean Sea, La Ciotat by Hiroshi Sugimoto. The price achieved of USD 25,200.00 (€ 22,265.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hiroshi Sugimoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Sea, Ozuluce; Yellow Sea, Cheju; Red Sea, Safaga in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,888,000.00 (€ 1,403,404.45).
