Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March last year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Mediterranean Sea, La Ciotat by Hiroshi Sugimoto. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,408.08). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hiroshi Sugimoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Sea, Ozuluce; Yellow Sea, Cheju; Red Sea, Safaga in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,888,000.00 (€ 1,403,404.45).
