Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Phillips in an online auction held the auction Land, Sea, Sky: Online Auction, which included the work Flat World by James Turrell. The price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 8,948.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Turrell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orca, Blue-Red in October 2020 with an auction result of GBP 302,400.00 (€ 335,789.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2020 führte Phillips in einer Online-Auktion die Auktion Land, Sea, Sky: Online Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flat World von James Turrell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 8.948,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Turrell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orca, Blue-Red im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 302.400,00 (€ 335.789,40).
