Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June last year Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Bent Stencil, from Fragment - According to What Series (Gemini G.E.L. 289, U.L.A.E. 95) by Jasper Johns. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,024.00 (€ 3,513.03). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jasper Johns achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Small False Start in November last year with an auction result of USD 55,350,000.00 (€ 53,618,134.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bent Stencil, from Fragment - According to What Series (Gemini G.E.L. 289, U.L.A.E. 95) von Jasper Johns zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.024,00 (€ 3.513,03) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jasper Johns erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Small False Start im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 55.350.000,00 (€ 53.618.134,26).
