Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Decoy by Jasper Johns was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Christies in New York in October last year. The price achieved of USD 37,800.00 (€ 38,051.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jasper Johns achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Small False Start in November last year with an auction result of USD 55,350,000.00 (€ 53,618,134.26).
