Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sous bois (Arras) by Jean Baptiste Camille Corot was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century Prints auction at Christies in New York in January this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,386.00 (€ 1,276.48) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Baptiste Camille Corot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venise, vue du Quai des Esclavons in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 9,009,844.00 (€ 7,720,517.57).
