Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lion héraldique, from the Fables series by Jean Dubuffet was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples auction at Bonhams in New York in November last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 4,845.00 (€ 4,693.40) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Dubuffet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Paris Polka in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 24,805,000.00 (€ 22,562,306.71).
