Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study for a Painting of 2 Palettes by Jim Dine was sold in the Contemporary Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 107,100.00 (€ 99,804.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jim Dine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Fence (Sydney Close) in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 391,000.00 (€ 436,481.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study for a Painting of 2 Palettes von Jim Dine wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 107.100,00 (€ 99.804,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jim Dine auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Fence (Sydney Close) im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 391.000,00 (€ 436.481,36).
