Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art (Afternoon Session), which included this untitled work by Jo Baer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 41,825.00 (€ 31,544.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jo Baer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in May this year with an auction result of USD 327,600.00 (€ 307,490.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art (Afternoon Session) durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jo Baer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 41.825,00 (€ 31.544,61) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jo Baer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 327.600,00 (€ 307.490,14).
