Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Christies in New York held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Ten Variants by Josef Albers. The price achieved of USD 37,800.00 (€ 38,051.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josef Albers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Homage to the Square in May this year with an auction result of USD 2,954,000.00 (€ 2,772,667.54).
