The work Sara gets undressed by Julian Opie was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November last year. It achieved a price of GBP 40,620.00 (€ 47,069.31), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Admittedly, works by Julian Opie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Walking in London in the rain in June last year with an auction result of CHF 189,000.00 (€ 189,036.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Sara gets undressed von Julian Opie kam im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 40.620,00 (€ 47.069,31) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Julian Opie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Walking in London in the rain im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 189.000,00 (€ 189.036,11).
