Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Street 1; Street 2; Street 3; and Street 4 by Julian Opie. The price achieved of USD 35,280.00 (€ 33,482.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Julian Opie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Walking in London in the rain in June last year with an auction result of CHF 189,000.00 (€ 189,036.11).
