Upper estimate price exceeded by 26 %.
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Day Auction, which included the work Landscape Allegories by Julie Mehretu. The »bidding war« ended at USD 50,400.00 (€ 46,966.73), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julie Mehretu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Ground (Deep Light) in April 2019 with an auction result of HKD 44,209,000.00 (€ 5,032,271.67).
