Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bedized Pudding, Canadian Suite (6 works) by Karel Appel was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in November last year. The price achieved of USD 4,462.50 (€ 4,322.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Karel Appel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two birds and a Flower in December 2012 with an auction result of EUR 841,000.00.
