Auction result well in line with expectations
The work THIS IS THE WAY by Kaws was auctioned at Phillips in London in March last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 796,900.00 (€ 944,814.64) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Admittedly, works by Kaws have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Kimpsons #1) in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 57,877,000.00 (€ 6,615,255.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit THIS IS THE WAY von Kaws kam im März letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 796.900,00 (€ 944.814,64) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600.000,00 – 800.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kaws auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Kimpsons #1) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.877.000,00 (€ 6.615.255,49).
