Auction result well in line with expectations
The work THIS IS THE WAY by Kaws was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Phillips in London in March this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 796,900 (€ 1,333,738) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600,000 - 800,000. Admittedly, works by Kaws have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Kimpsons #1) in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 57,877,000 (€ 6,615,255).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit THIS IS THE WAY von Kaws wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 796.900 (€ 1.333.738) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600.000 – 800.000. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kaws auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Kimpsons #1) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.877.000 (€ 6.615.255).
