Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work WILL IT HAPPEN by Kaws was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November this year. It achieved a price of HKD 6,804,000 (€ 1,045,397), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by Kaws have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Kimpsons #1) in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 57,877,000 (€ 6,615,255).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit WILL IT HAPPEN von Kaws kam im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 6.804.000 (€ 1.045.397) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kaws auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Kimpsons #1) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.877.000 (€ 6.615.255).
