Upper estimate price exceeded by 83 %.
This artwork by Kazuo Shiraga achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2021. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Hirogaru ougi sold for GBP 365,400.00 (€ 432,900.31) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kazuo Shiraga achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Takao in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 8,731,400.00.
