Auction result well in line with expectations
The work a. Portrait of a girl b. Sisters by Foujita was sold in the Modern Discoveries | Rare & Limited auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 10,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 12,600.00 (€ 1,572.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Foujita achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La fête d'anniversaire in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 7,096,250.00 (€ 8,002,380.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit a. Portrait of a girl b. Sisters von Foujita wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern Discoveries | Rare & Limited bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 10.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 12.600,00 (€ 1.572,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Foujita erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La fête d'anniversaire im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.096.250,00 (€ 8.002.380,76).
