Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Père by Marc Chagall was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Phillips in New York in November last year. The price achieved of USD 7,404,500.00 (€ 7,172,817.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000,000.00 – 8,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marc Chagall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Les Amoureux , which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 28,453,000.00 (€ 23,914,103.21).
