In December last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Marc Chagall, Colour of Life:Works Formerly from the Artist's Estate (Part II), which included the work L'envol du peintre by Marc Chagall. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 22,650,000.00 (€ 2,714,273.70), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Marc Chagall have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Les Amoureux in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 28,453,000.00 (€ 23,914,103.21).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen

Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Marc Chagall, Colour of Life:Works Formerly from the Artist's Estate (Part II) durch, in der auch die Arbeit L'envol du peintre von Marc Chagall zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 22.650.000,00 (€ 2.714.273,70) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marc Chagall auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Les Amoureux im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.453.000,00 (€ 23.914.103,21).
