Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction This is Tomorrow: Works from the David Ross Collection, which included the work Sphinx (Caryatid) by Marc Quinn. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 36,540.00 (€ 42,514.80), 22% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc Quinn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Myth Venus in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,325,000.00 (€ 971,407.62).
