Auction result misses estimated price range
In November last year a collector was able to acquire the work Sphinx (Gold Leaf) by Marc Quinn for GBP 535.50 (€ 620.52). This price was achieved in the auction The Astute EyeContemporary Art from a Private London Collector Online at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc Quinn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Myth Venus in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,325,000.00 (€ 971,407.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sphinx (Gold Leaf) von Marc Quinn für GBP 535,50 (€ 620,52) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Astute EyeContemporary Art from a Private London Collector Online bei Bonhams in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marc Quinn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Myth Venus im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.325.000,00 (€ 971.407,62).
