Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Marc Quinn could be acquired at Bonhams in London in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Astute EyeContemporary Art from a Private London Collector Online auction, the work Sphinx (Silver Leaf) changed hands for GBP 446.25 (€ 517.10) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc Quinn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Myth Venus in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,325,000.00 (€ 971,407.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Marc Quinn konnte im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Astute EyeContemporary Art from a Private London Collector Online wechselte die Arbeit Sphinx (Silver Leaf) für GBP 446,25 (€ 517,10) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marc Quinn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Myth Venus im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.325.000,00 (€ 971.407,62).
