In April 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Ligo by Mark Francis. The result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,875.17) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Francis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Symbiosis (Mesh), which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 32,450.00 (€ 41,228.09).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ligo von Mark Francis zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.875,17) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mark Francis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Symbiosis (Mesh) beobachtet, die im Juli 2008 für GBP 32.450,00 (€ 41.228,09) versteigert wurde.
