Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Free Capri 51.27) by Mark Grotjahn for GBP 2,152,500.00 (€ 2,552,031.01). This price was achieved in the auction The Now Evening Auction at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,200,000.00 – 2,800,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Mark Grotjahn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (S III Released to France Face 43.14) in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 16,767,500.00 (€ 14,923,015.31).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Free Capri 51.27) von Mark Grotjahn für GBP 2.152.500,00 (€ 2.552.031,01) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Now Evening Auction bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.200.000,00 – 2.800.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mark Grotjahn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (S III Released to France Face 43.14) im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.767.500,00 (€ 14.923.015,31).
