Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Le bar nino by Maurice Barraud was auctioned at Christies in Zurich in October 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of CHF 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for CHF 1,875.00 (€ 1,614.87). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurice Barraud achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Belle Genevoise in June 2010 with an auction result of CHF 52,500.00 (€ 39,643.03).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Le bar nino von Maurice Barraud im Oktober 2017 bei Christies in Zürich versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von CHF 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für CHF 1.875,00 (€ 1.614,87) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maurice Barraud erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Belle Genevoise im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 52.500,00 (€ 39.643,03).
