Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Femme au fauteuil No. 1 (d'après le rouge) (Woman in Armchair No. 1, from the red) (Bl. 586, M. 134, R. 386) by Pablo Picasso was sold in the Evening & Day Editions auction at Phillips in London in January this year. It achieved a price of GBP 59,220.00 (€ 67,215.63), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pablo Picasso achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les femmes d'Alger (Version 'O') in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 179,365,000.00 (€ 163,148,080.77).
