In January this year Bonhams held the auction Discovery on Sunset, which included the work Portrait-Charge d'un Personnage, en Larmes, Pl. 194, from Séries 347 by Pablo Picasso. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,522.75), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pablo Picasso achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les femmes d'Alger (Version 'O') in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 179,365,000.00 (€ 163,148,080.77).
