Upper estimate price exceeded by 59 %.
In June last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Sculpteur et Deux Têtes sculptées, from La Suite Vollard by Pablo Picasso. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,562.50 (€ 9,134.11), 59% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pablo Picasso achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les femmes d'Alger (Version 'O') in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 179,365,000.00 (€ 163,148,080.77).
