Upper estimate price exceeded by 28 %.
The work Tahiti, scène de rivière by Paul Gauguin was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. It achieved a price of USD 8,942,000.00 (€ 8,332,867.39), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 28%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Gauguin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maternité II in November last year with an auction result of USD 105,730,000.00 (€ 102,421,776.62).
