Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Te Atua (The Gods), from Noa Noa by Paul Gauguin. The price achieved of USD 40,312.50 (€ 36,340.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 35,000.00 – 45,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Gauguin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maternité II in November last year with an auction result of USD 105,730,000.00 (€ 102,421,776.62).
