Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Peter Saul achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in July 2020. In the Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction, the work Two Napoleons Crossing the Alps sold for HKD 2,500,000.00 (€ 273,908.61) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Saul - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Human Dignity, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 819,000.00 (€ 768,725.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter Saul erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Two Napoleons Crossing the Alps für HKD 2.500.000,00 (€ 273.908,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Peter Saul mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Human Dignity beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 819.000,00 (€ 768.725,36) versteigert wurde.
