Artwork auctioned at 16 times the upper estimate price
When the work White Sex by Peter Saul was auctioned at Phillips in New York in July 2020, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 1,200.00 but the actual price achieved was more than 16 times as high at USD 20,000.00 (€ 16,986.58). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Saul achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Human Dignity in May this year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 768,725.36).
