Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rain Cloud by Philip Guston was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction auction at Sothebys in London in March last year. The price achieved of GBP 2,939,000.00 (€ 3,484,515.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500,000.00 – 3,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Philip Guston have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Strong Light in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 24,393,000.00 (€ 21,611,588.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Rain Cloud von Philip Guston wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.939.000,00 (€ 3.484.515,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.500.000,00 – 3.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philip Guston auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Strong Light im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.393.000,00 (€ 21.611.588,55).
