This price was achieved in the auction Post-War to Present at Christies and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 350,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Philip Guston have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Strong Light in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 24,393,000.00 (€ 21,611,588.55).
