Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Hoeve met Wilgen aan het water I by Piet Mondrian was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in November 2019. Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,644.98). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Piet Mondrian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composition No. III, with Red, Blue, Yellow, and Black, 1929 in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 50,565,000.00 (€ 45,993,269.06).
