It achieved a price of USD 750.00 (€ 668.03), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Red Grooms achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Joltin' Joe Takes a Swing in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 70,500.00 (€ 83,382.61).

Die Arbeit Graveyard Ruckus (Knestrick 162) von Red Grooms kam im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 750,00 (€ 668,03) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Red Grooms erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Joltin' Joe Takes a Swing im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 70.500,00 (€ 83.382,61).
