This artwork by Richard Estes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in May 2021. In the Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples auction, the work Salzburg sold for USD 4,462.00 (€ 3,659.18) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Estes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gifts of Nature in March this year with an auction result of USD 1,284,000.00 (€ 1,181,015.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Richard Estes erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples wurde die Arbeit Salzburg für USD 4.462,00 (€ 3.659,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Estes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gifts of Nature im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.284.000,00 (€ 1.181.015,45).
