Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dieter Roth (Lullin 184) by Richard Hamilton was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Sothebys in New York in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,024.00 (€ 2,869.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Hamilton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Epiphany in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 557,000.00 (€ 768,020.27).
