Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Robert Gober could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Macklowe Collection auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 1,956,000.00 (€ 1,732,967.13) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Gober - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 7,287,500.00 (€ 6,244,644.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Robert Gober konnte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Macklowe Collection wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 1.956.000,00 (€ 1.732.967,13) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Gober mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für USD 7.287.500,00 (€ 6.244.644,39) versteigert wurde.
